I've always thought this was a funny exit/entrance. If you're on the east side of I-35 then you have 2 ways to enter onto I-35. You can do it by turning right and then a sharp left near the community center or you can wait and cross traffic and enter that way.

I'm surprised that a turning lane for either one has never been brought up. Or if it has then I'm not aware of it.

Any insight on the future of this area?

I find going southbound way too confusing. You have to cross I-35, take a right on Classen, a right on SW 4th Street (same name, different street), and then take a right onto I-35 Frontage Road which merges onto I-35. Why there is not an on-ramp off of the service road is beyond me.

There was a history video about that odd entrance and exit that's on 4th street by the community center and the one across by oncu. the road actually use to run across the interstate ( seriously lol) it was the only road that crossed the interstate at one time until to many accidents happened
