Good job, guys!

Here is something similar for projects here in Seattle: https://www.seattleinprogress.com/

I cannot get my maps (that I am creating) to show the same way. Particularly, when I add a picture to the top left header section. And none of the pictures are clickable. Are these things not available to everyone?

Looks like they are building a Zaxby's near the intersection of 122nd and Rockwell, just south of Autozone.

TownHouse Hotel, the building next to Whiskey Chicks, the Cove, and Uptown Theater are missing. Also should Homeland changes be on there? How about the 4th/Shartel apartments? Can't remember if those were beyond an RFP from OCURA.

Please if anyone wants to help update it message Pete, me, or Barelheia to be able to edit and one of us can add you.

I try to add and update as much as possible, but on some smaller projects or ones out in the burbs I've just listed them as U/C as do not live in OKC and can't verify whether they're actually under construction or not.

As for the I-40/I-44 interchange, I don't even think it will start in 2024. That's just ROW acquisition. :/

This needs to be one of their most prioritized projects, those bridges are awful.

Agreed. This is exactly the type of project that I think would benefit from ODOT being able to issue bonds. And this interchange needs to be a stack like the ones in Texas and with no left exits.

According to this map(8 yr plan), early 2020's looks like construction will start. Estimates look to be around 12 million dollars.

I love looking at this map - I pop on every couple of months just to look around. So thank you very much to whomever updates it.

But I do have a question and it's really more of a Google Earth question. How often does the photography get updated? I'm not talking about the process of marking the development projects, which I know someone on this site takes the time to do, and, again, thanks - I'm talking about the image itself. I notice for example that on this image it doesn't even have the Northside Costco under construction - it's still a blank field. We all know the Costco has been open for months. So this photography is at least a year and a half old. Just curious.

techwalla did a store about it with some info and links to dig further into it

https://www.techwalla.com/articles/how-often-does-google-maps-update-satellite-images

the google earth blog provides some more info too about their processing of images, etc.

but if you want a
tldr;
images are usually updated monthly for newly processed images, but those images could be from 1 to 3 years old

You can look through historical imagery in Google Earth. Google Maps looks like it's using pictures from December 2017 around the whole OKC area, but Earth also has imagery from January 2018 and November 2018. Not sure if there is some algorithm to judge the clarity of the photos to determine if that's what should be used in Maps or what makes them decide to update.

It's really cool to see how things around the city have progressed using that historical imagery slider in Earth. Definitely would recommend playing around with it.

Something next to the Harbor Freight in Edmond being built?

Something next to TGI Friday on NW Expressway?

Anyone know about those 2 places?

What are they doing at the Woodson Park Sports Complex? A whole new parking area right to the east of I-44. Are they just revamping the whole area? I tried to look for information on it but there's not even any information on the development map and I checked the MAPS 4 thread. TIA.

Arkansas and NWA made a huge mistake by wasting time widening US 412 through Siloam instead of bypassing it with an upgradable 4 lane/divided. The current focus is getting the 412 bypass built around North Springdale and anything for I-49 south of I-40.

But.. the thinking is small here. It should be regionally bigger. What is that? An extension of I-22 from North Mississippi to I-35 using US 412 from Walnut Ridge AR to Stillwater Ok, there it would share a bit with Future I- 57 to the south and then tie into an extended I-555 to I-55 down to Memphis.

Upgrades to US 65 from Harrison to Springfield to interstate standard and and extention of a four lane divided non interstate standard US 412 from Walnut Ridge to Paragould thru the Missouri Boothill over to I-155 that basically bypasses Memphis via Jackson TN to Nashville TN.

Thanks for the multiple updates. The tool is incredibly effective and I find myself using it weekly to guide conversations and speak to OKCs inbound growth. I did notice there are a couple new projects (Phillips Murrah, Citizen, etc..) that are not included, could you please update the map as of 2Q23? I really do appreciate the work to this point and often brag about its usefullness.

First off, hats off to you for the continuous stream of updates. I've got to tell you, the map is a game changer. I've been using it weekly to steer conversations and get a picture of OKC's incoming growth.

However, I noticed a few new kids on the block - Phillips Murrah, Citizen, and a few others - haven't made it onto the map yet. Think you could hook me up with an updated map that covers up to 2Q23?

I've got to say, the work up until now has been stellar, and I often find myself boasting in other markets about how useful this tool is.

Thanks!
