Where's the spiral staircase here: https://youtu.be/0H5xffrYI_8?t=26s ?

Is that coming out of a swimming pool or something?

Might be the last time you ever see the Chesapeake Christmas lights again....

That spiral staircase came out of the Marion hotel, It's over 100 years old, and they suspended it across the street between the Buick building and the new parking garage as art. We could call it 'Stairway to Heaven ? '

Cool, thanks. I figured as much, just didn't know the details or where it was. I'll look for it.

I was skeptical about this whole "drone" thing until I saw some of the shots of Lake Hefner, from someone in here, several months ago. This photographic art is magnificent. And appreciated. Thank you.

Does anyone have their own drone here?

I'm thinking about purchasing one. I already have a gopro, so something with a mount. Any recommendations?

I have a DJI Phantom 2. Super fun/easy to operate. Takes great stills, but needed to spring for a better gimbal to be serious with video. Camera is 1080P, but the shake/wobble is noticeable, especially when stopping/starting.

Thanks, Urbanized.

Did you get the Phantom 2 + H3-3D or just the Phantom 2?

That's pretty cool.

I cringe to think of either me or my husband flying a drone through our house! It'd be a complete disaster. We never quite got the hang of flying it and gave it up entirely.

I would guess the interior shots (and even a number of the exterior ones) were done using a handheld steadicam or glide cam, though clever editing does make it seem like the drone flew into the home. Or, more properly, that you yourself as the viewer flew into the home, with no thought as to what enabled it.

We are only aware of and looking for the drone because we know it's there and because the technology - and the types of shots it enables - is new to us. Eventually these types of shots will be so ubiquitous that we won't give them a second thought, but instead just marvel at the subject, which is the intent.

It is illegal to smuggle contraband into an Oklahoma prison regardless of method or mean. Whether in a laundry basket, baked into a cake or carried by drone, it's illegal. Seven bills were introduced this session dealing with drones, and none - fortunately - was focused on this.
