That was a good warmup match. Nice to see the guys out there again.
The new keeper saved a penalty kick. Also made two other really good saves.
Man, I'm ready for the FC Dallas tailgate & match. 2/27/16

Whats the green club?

bradh
02-27-2016, 09:40 AM
The tent on the SE corner next to where the Grid sits behind goal. We usually spent half the game in our seats and then when we were shooting at that goal we would move down to the tent. Now moving the club under the stands is kinda pointless and in my eyes not a perk anymore with our tickets.

Grid moved to the North end zone and they were setting up the Green Club tent in South end zone. Not sure where they would set it up under the west stands.

What I mean is reported number and number who actually show up are quite different. I'm asking did it feel like there were really that many people there? If so that's surprising with the biggest Thunder game of the year in town.

I think all season ticket holders automatically got a ticket to this game, so that probably helped "push" the ticket total higher.

There were some empty seats and I have no idea what the official gate count would be, but it felt very well attended in my opinion. It really didn't feel like a "one month before the regular season even starts pre-season friendly".

The Energy FC attendance has been impressive over the last six events held at Taft; many games attracted 6,000 or more. A local TV contract could drive up ticket sales with its popularity .

Oklahoma City metropolitan area with the USL & the NASL is transitioning. Great time for our community soccer fans. Personally think that there's room for both leagues to prosper in OKC.

Dropped the season opener 2-1 tonight. Looked flat in the first half but finally got the ball in the net and continued the pressure hard for the final 35 minutes. We'll be alright. Bring on Saint Louis FC.

I watched on KSBI and tbh, the stream was just as bad as last year on youtube. Very low quality compared to what you'd expect a professional organization to put out. Looked like I was watching the high school football playoffs.

I'm sure that all the NRG critics will have just as much grace if the Rayo crowd is just 5,000 on Saturday.

All of the home games will be televised on KSBI and all games will be on YouTube. I think Griffin (owners of KSBI) are going to work with the Roughnecks so that the games in Tulsa will also be televised on KSBI and KOTV in Tulsa.

I don't think that was agreed to. Because Energy fans dont want to back up the **** they talked in Dec Jan Feb abotu Rayo. Now we have a team, players, TV deals, stadium and fans and they are backing down.
DOnt think that's true, check your archives or talk to your homeboys from Da Grid.

I think you're going to find quickly that this isn't a sh*t talking site. There are other spaces online for that and Pete is likely just going to end up banning you. More than that, you keep referencing all Energy fans as if they're one entity, which they're not. Instead you're likely just alienating a lot of people that actually didn't have any dog in the fight and might have been Rayo fans also...

Anyway, I don't know how I feel about our new keeper, he was way way too far off his line for that. Not sure what the hell he was thinking going out for that. Don't know if he just doesn't have faith in his defenders or what but I don't even think Manuel Neuer would have come out that far for that.

Goal keepers sometimes have to make quick decisions. Just didn't see a lot of high energy play by the Energy FC in its opening match; despite the enthusiasm of the crowd. Let's hope they come out with more vigor; hate that they lost a home game they should have won.

Road wins, especially against the II cities (Seattle, Portland, Vancouver, Real Salt Lake, Toronto, Los Angeles, New York, Kansas City) will be tough.

Just giving some examples of the competitive of the II teams who could potentially dominate the future of the USL. We do play the majority of the II teams mentioned.

Just concerned about the direction the USL is headed and the length of time our Oklahoma City Energy FC could have until our new MLS affiliate decides it's more to their advantage to have their own USL II team in the Dallas-Fort Worth or Frisco area.

How long did our affiliation last with Sporting Kansas City?
