With the recent opening of the now-moved Portland Avenue on the east/southeast side of the airport, I was wondering if anyone had information on the next development step for this area? I've been hearing about this new area for some time, and it seemed the road was a while in coming, but now that it's here it would seem some activity could really get rolling. Any information?

I'm sort of surprised that no one has put in a really cool gas station at the entrance of the airport. i guess the traffic just doesn't justify it, but I think an OnCue would do quite well there

This has been in the works for some time but the last time I talked to councilman Greenwell, they had yet to name a developer. This is from Nov. '13...

Darn development means more traffic. I like Portland as a non-stop-and-go alternative to I-44 south(west)bound during the afternoon rush. Just when they replace the pothole path we get this! Just kidding, sort of.

Do I hallucinate or was there not word of On-Cue going in at SW 104 and I-44? Southwest "corner" where the old Texaco was.

The SW corner of 119th and Portland is on the east side of I44. The funeral home and cemetery are on the west side.

I think the city officials are focused on the downtown/midtown area and there isn't the same level of support for this development or for Envision 240. I may be cynical but when they want the south side to vote for the next MAPS project there will be token process on one or both of these areas.

The city basically has very little to do with airport operations and plans.

Right you are. I wasn't thinking clearly.
