By all accounts a great man and as far as MNF goes he was leagues better than the current lot.

I am one of those old enough to remember the original team of Howard Cossel, Dandy Don Merideth and Frank. All now deceased. MNF was an absolute must see at our house. My dad hated Howard and would yell at the TV. Don would sing "turn out the lights...." And Frank was the stable calm voice of reason. He was a great player and was involved in one of the most famous hits in NFL history when chuck bednaris knocked him out cold.
