I shot this on Saturday, still learning how to use this thing but it still turned out pretty good.

Are these things set up so that you can see the video feed in real-time or do you have to recover it and then watch the footage?

It streams live to your cell phone or tablet. However, the video is stored on a car on the drone itself. So, you see the footage to pilot the drone, but, you have to recover it and use the card to download the footage and edit it.

Very cool - you said you were still learning to use it but it looked like you did a good job to me!

The lake looks so much better now that it's full again!

We have been looking at them to add the capability of aerial pictures of intersections and arrest sites but concerned about the learning curve. Seeiyah, how difficult is it to fly?

Seeiyah, how difficult is it to fly? Very Easy, I received this on Friday, shot this video the next day. It streams HD video back to a tablet: http://i.imgur.com/zBmX1ox.jpg

My computer was having a hard time editing 4k video so I ended up transcoding it to 1080 and will probably shoot at 1080 going forward.

Looks like fun. I was always kind of interested in kite photography but never attempted any.

The lighthouse seems to be popular place for using them. I was sailing out there a couple of weeks ago and was buzzed by one. There was a larger boat of people behind me who must have been buzzed first. I heard someone say "I wish I had a shotgun" just before I realized the drone was now circling us.

It was novel. I shot some video of it shooting video of us. And we were close to a lot of people and boats on that part of the lake. Hope it doesn't become a regular part of sailing at Hefner in general though. Or anywhere else.

Wow, excellent job. The multi-track audio was incredible, too. You've got talent!

Just make sure you have your people start in wide open spaces. Invariably everyone I've watched starting out always wants to hit a tree or a side of a building. The newer Phantom 3's don't survive crashes as well.

I was surprised to see the number of drones near the Fireworks show at the Fairgrounds last night. 4-5 hovering in area. Probably got some nice video!
