So the other day I was cleaning out the garage and saw a box full of old dvds and even some blue rays. Told the wife to sell them on ebay because we haven't watched any of the movies in the last year. Looking at the prices, you cant sell them for more than .25$, some are even as low as a dime. Will never buy another blue ray again. I bought these damn things for $20 or even some for $25.

So here is my question, what depreciates worse than cars? I would say dvds.

Electronic equipment in general loses tons of value very quickly.

But clothing and furniture -- if you buy new -- loses more valuable more than anything.

A car loses $5,000 in value as soon you sign the paper. You can buy a lot of $20 blu-rays for that. Best thing to do is take all your movies to Hastings and trade them in for store credit.

I would say cars and technology are at the top of the list. You can still get a fair amount for used DVDs.

Add high tech golf clubs to the list! Try out the "values" of a club bought last year as state of the art on PGA's value site! A $300 driver might get you $50 and they churn out at least one new model a year and sometimes two.

More specifically diving into "technology" and gadgets, the Ipods used to depreciate quite rapidly.
I had one worth $150. Two years later I tried to trade it in for store credit at a local game store and the trade value was like $8, cash was $2-3.

I find that iPods did since they got phased out. Reselling an iPhone is great. I usually make $250 on a two year old iPhone if I unlock it.

True, and that was pretty much when the Iphones hit their stride, so I wasn't mad, just a tad disappointed.

Perishable food depreciates pretty fast. If you don't eat it fast enough it becomes pretty much worthless.

I was going to say the pizza I had for lunch. In a few hours it won't be worth ****.
