It seems that the death toll may be significantly less than first thought (http://reuters.myway.com/article/20050909/2005-09-09T023413Z_01_SPI877714_RTRIDST_0_NEWS-DEATHS-DC.html). Hopefully, it works out that way. I read that officials were prepared with 25,000 bodybags. :eek:

The recovery of Katrina's victims speeded up in the last two days. As of Thursday, Mississippi had recorded 201 deaths and Louisiana 118, while other affected states had much lower numbers.
