I wish that someone could explain why that particular stretch of pavement, from 23rd St. to Britton Road is so appealing (to me). It isn't rural . . . and it isn't exactly Urban. However, it seems to have a certain amount of . . . Character. (even in the absence of The Historical 'Graffiti Bridge' and The Original Split T).

I wish they would repave Western. They have been doing so by Whole Foods but they need to do it the entire thoroughfare. The potholes are terrible to the point they could damage your car if you go the speed limit. Beyond that though I do like the stretch and think that it could become very appealing. The area by Will Rogers Theater is one of my favorite in town.

The (near) absence of national chain businesses and (near) absence of vacant storefronts help keep it interesting. It's one of the best streets in the city.

To me, from the railroad overpass north to about NW 99th, it still has some of the flavor of the old town of Britton.
