I'm not familiar with this at all but it's new to OKC and Oklahoma

The international chain Smoothie King is preparing to open its first Oklahoma City location in Westgate Marketplace.

The 1,500-square-foot smoothie shop is under construction at 5921 SW 3 in a storefront previously occupied by Quizno’s. The smoothie shop is expected to open in late February or early March.

“What I like about Oklahoma City is that it’s a town that is very open to a lot of different ideas with its combination of Midwest and Western values,” said Dan Hannah, vice president of business development for Smoothie King. “I think our concept fits in with the healthy and active lifestyle that people in Oklahoma want.”

I grew up going to Smoothie Kings in Tulsa in the 90s. Maybe those have closed I have no clue, but Smoothie King isn't new to the state.

On one hand, I'm glad we're getting them here.

On the other, what a bizarre location selection. These are typically best around ares with an active population, like gyms and other stuff. Nothing like that around here.

There was one in Stillwater for a while starting in around 2006. It is closed now.
