And aside from the politically expedient but scientifically worthless Apollo-Soyuz mission that followed, we absolutely wasted the already-constructed Saturn V rockets that were to be used in the subsequent missions that were scrubbed politically due to operational budget cuts. Horrendous waste.

At less than 2 years old, I was too young to remember the Apollo 11 moon landing, but I remember subsequent missions like this one well. As a 5 year old it was pretty fascinating.

I remember watching the Apollo 11 mission at my grandmothers house when I was a kid.
