Not sure how else to explain why the critters seem to prefer my daughter's front lawn over others in the neighborhood.

Oh my gosh! Where is that?! Is that for real?

My daughter would have a FREAKING FIT of delight if something like that happened in our yard. Your grandkids must've been thrilled!

Mine would have hauled out the front door trying to pet them. That is a cool pic.

EF Warren AFB, base family housing, Cheyenne, WY
Lopes are protected on the base and they are plentiful. They do seem to gravitate to my daughter's place.

The current spot is the family's fourth location on base. There has been a lot of demo of the old and building new
housing while they have been there.

My grandbabies love it every time the lopes boing boing over to their yard and stay awhile.
Brisket the pup, well, he goes into hyper-bark mode whenever he looks out. Lopes don't much care.
The cat, well, Polly is a typical cat. She can't be bothered by any of it.

Now they should pray for some Deer Crossing Signs.
In at least a couple of languages to be sure they get the message.
And, thereby, be enabled to cross the street safely. =)

please don't confuse that with "snark".
it was the exact opposite of that.
in fact, that picture was very nearly charming.
for real.

That's awesome!

We just get turkeys by the dozen in our yard. It's to the point now where the 3 year old says "MEH" when we point them out.

We use to get groups of deer on our place southeast of Arcadia. That is until our two idiot neighbors to the south of us ran them all off . We took these while sitting on the front porch.

One think I miss about a former employer happens to be from when we leased Hope Hall, a former patient ward at Griffin. You would occasionally see deer on the grounds, and of course lots of furry squirrels. There was a little fox that apparently lived in the old abandoned church just east of Hope Hall. Watched that little fox come and go a lot from my window.

Come to think of it, missing critters is the one of the things I miss most about assisting at Scout camps. Well, the fun critters. hopefully, I'll never, ever have to help with another cattle drive on a campground. Dang ol' lazy fence owners anyhow.

We've gotten a few turkeys coming after our burr oak acorns, recently. I'm like a nine year old kid hiding under an orange and green quilt with a camo hood on Hoping to see it, again.

Reason 5,437 that I love my grandbabies:

"Mom, I need some fingerpins for my picture I'm making! ... Fingerpins, so everybody can see it. ... I need to put fingerpins on it so everyone can know what I made ... I want to put it on the wall with fingerpins!"

Thumbtacks are dead ... Long Live Fingerpins!

Eldest grandchild apparently has a bit of cowgirl in her heart -

"Mommy, when we have a farm in OK we need to have a horse and a cow. Then when the cow has a calf we can be in the rodeo. You know how they do the roping where they tie up the calf? Yeah, I want to do that."

I've just learned my little Ollie decided this morning would be his directorial debut. It's a small theater to be sure, but he was certainly into it.

Shoes off
Socks off
Shoes back on
Sock puppet time!

And now he is a budding Picasso, As I understand the story, which was shrouded in a lot of laughter, Ollie asked his Mama to wait. Apparently he wasn't quite finished with his masterpiece when he was discovered.

I really, really need my little artsy lad to get him and his family back to Oklahoma.

Grandson Trent explained to his Mama today where all the dinosaurs went:

Trent has a theory on dinosaur extinction:
They tried to turn their heads all the way around to be like owls and *snap* broken necks. All of them.

Little Ollie's crib was changed to a toddler bed because he had decided he was big enough to break out of baby jail anytime he wanted.
But ya know, if you have a touch of gangsta in yer heart, the old habits, well, sometimes they die hard.

G-baby Trent on age progression

I used to be four (showing four fingers) but I had a birthday and now I am a whole hand.

----

My daughter was talking to my precious G-baby Emery tonight about cookies and made the comment
'you're just a little bit spoiled, aren't you.'

E: Yes I am. Haven't you seen Nana's sign?

My lovely has long has a sign in the kitchen that says:
Nana's Kitchen ...
Where memories are made and grandbabies are spoiled.

I love having our babies back in OK, but I'm already about three g-babyisms away from needing an oxygen tank from laughing so much.

Been too busy playing with our g-babies to write a lot about them, but this one came up the other day

T: I'm never gonna get married 'cause I don't want to have any kids. I don't want to take care of 'em or have my wife take care of 'em. I don't want to have to share my house.
E: You'll be lonely!
T: Yeah, but I'll have my dogs.

So two of the four greatest grandbabies in the world are over to visit this am. A good friend and fellow member of the bar stopped by with some news. I stepped out to visit with him as my gbabies and the guest babies are all at high volume today.

T: who is on the porch with Poppa?
Nana: that's Poppa's friend. He's a lawyer.
T: He's a liar?
Nana: No, he's a law-yer. He does the same type work your Poppa does.
T: Ohhhhh.

I find myself grateful for the extra enunciation the second time around. Would make me sad if little T thought me a liar.
