Thursday night, people gathered to raise a farewell toast to Edna Scott, creator and owner of Edna’s Restaurant and Club. She lost her battle with lung cancer just before midnight Wednesday.

In the quiet before the evening rush, Pat Moore and Scott Clark remembered their friend.

“Just to drink one in honor of The Queen," Moore said. "That was our nickname for her."

“The Great Queen has died," Clark said. "And that’s brought us together to have a toast.”

Those who know her best will remember her as full of life, and always up for dancing to her favorite song.

“Anytime she was here and somebody played Great Balls of Fire, she’s dancing! She’s up on the bar dancing,” Moore said.

“There’s a little tassel here that she hangs on to. That she would hold on to and do her dances and everybody would just start clapping and the place goes roaring nuts,” Clark said. “I’ve seen her dance the song 20, 30 times in a night.”

Her love of music was just as apparent as her love for people, always bringing them together, and making lives better.

“I’ll never forget her as long as I live. Ever," Moore said.

“She’s a big Elvis Presley fan," Clark said. “I guarantee you, right now, she’s dancing on the counter with Elvis, loving it, all things are good. I love you much, Edna.”

Edna introduced Clark to his wife. They now have three children, and he says she’ll always be a part of their lives.

Edna was 72-years-old.

RIP Edna I may just have a lunchbox in your honor......
