It's hard to believe it's been 13 years, it seems like yesterday in many ways. Many things have changed in our country and around the world since that dreadful day.

Rather than think about the attack I choose to think about the rebuilding and America's strength, something that can't be taken away.

I can still play out minute by minute my life that morning, from the moment my wife came into the bath to tell me something was happening in NYC...

It sucks my most vivid memory of the past 20 years is this, rather than the birth of my kids or my wedding.

Not only that morning but the whole week. There are a couple events that I'll remember like that till the day I die and this is one of them.

I thought this was a cool tribute from the Mustang Fire Department.

I was wondering why all the flags were out and then I wake up this morning and look at the date. Oh. Then it all comes rolling in.

I was working about 2-3 blocks from the White House and heard the plane hit the Pentagon/watched it burn. That was just the beginning of a very long day with many adventures that involved being trapped, for hours, in DC. The things I saw will remain with me. My husband was sent to NYC to look for the black boxes that afternoon. My son was in Manhattan and watched some of the buildings fall from a rooftop. They shut off their apartment but they snuck in to get some money. Thank goodness he managed to get through to let me know he was okay before the cells couldn't get through, anymore.
