Oklahoma Wildlife Expo August 27-28 to be one of the largest outdoor-related events in state history

After more than 18 months of planning and hard work, the final preparations are now being made for one of the largest outdoor-related events in state history.

The Oklahoma Wildlife Expo August 27-28 at the Lazy E Arena just north of Oklahoma City will offer more 100 hands-on activities for the young and old alike – all completely free to the public.

“The Oklahoma Wildlife Expo is a fantastic opportunity for all Oklahomans to learn more about what our state has to offer,” said Governor Brad Henry. “At the Expo you can catch a fish, paint a wildlife picture, or even try shooting a bow and arrow.”

Every visitor will be sure to find something that interests them, from shotgun shooting, to a live bat exhibit, to mountain bike riding, to dog training, to wild game cooking – the Expo will have it all.

“Coordinated by the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation this event is a great example of what Oklahomans can do when they work toward a common cause,” Governor Henry said. “A wide variety of partners, including private businesses, non-profit conservation groups and other state and federal agencies, are coming together to promote and perpetuate Oklahomans’ appreciation of our state’s wildlife and natural resources.”

This was awesome! The kids had a blast - it is really crowded but it was really enjoyable - they had dog events, fishing events, bats, snakes, rock climbing...
