Now that the World Cup is over maybe some attention will be focused on the 101st Tour de France. It was really cool to see it start in England although I am a bit of traditionalist so I have mixed feeling about it. The crowds in England were amazing with some 1 to 2 million per day along the track.

I guess the biggest story this year is the number of crashes which have taken so many top riders out of it, including last years winner and the guy wearing the yellow jersey this year just crashed (breaking his bike in half) and after getting another bike decided he couldn't do it and dropped out.

As always, the scenery is spectacular.

Yellow jersey is still in it - it was Alberto Cantador that had to abandon.

Ooops - you're right. Although technically the Yellow Jersey is ALWAYS in the race :).

Do they use the chunnel to get to France? I don't really pay much attention to stuff like this.

Not Lance (at least not his Yellow Jerseys).
