Wow! I don't know much about EDM, but I do know that Bassnectar and Krewella are huge!

Never heard of either, but happy to see different strokes coming for the folk who were feeling left out of other events.

Better move this to the OKCFest thread. They'll be thrilled!

On their FB they asked where people were coming from to attend. Pretty cool to see people coming from all over. Even Michigan!

That's awesome. People coming from LA, New York, Austin, Denver (if those are legit responses). Tons of regional draw as well.

I like some of this kind of music. Listen to not dance to. Dancing days are over for me. Nice to see this kind of venue coming here. I went to Lilith Fair in '98 and it was a nice change for music around here. Nothing like a outdoor July music fest in OK. Stay hydrated!

This is set for September 5-6th so hopefully it wont be 110 in the shade. I have no idea what this is but it sounds like a lot of fun.

Air Park concerts garner more complaints from area residents | Oklahoma City - OKC - KOCO.com (http://www.koco.com/news/air-park-concerts-garner-more-complaints-from-area-residents/27920446)

I was there on Saturday, and had an amazing time. I've heard rumor that they are gonna find a new location for next year which would probably be best. But seriously one of the best Festivals I've been to.

I figured there would be more concerns with an EDM festival and wondered how it played out as I was out of town.
I had read they were doing silent disco for the late night portions which is usually a good solution I know the concept I believe was born at Bonaroo due to noise ordinance issues. .Glad the festival was a success and hopefully it returns.

Yeah, the silent disco was in it's own little tent and was pretty cool. It was great walking in before I put on the headset and just see a bunch of people dancing around in silence. They had three different DJ's up on the stage and three channels on your headphones so you could switch to which ever one you wanted to listen too, pretty neat.

That is kind of funny to have people together dancing to 3 different Djs..lol

Oh it was a sight, lol. I mean I got into it so I looked just as ridiculous but it was fun. Hoping next year they can secure a camp ground of some sort so they can go longer into the night and provide onsite camping.. The Airpark only allows the music till about 11/11:30 so it ended pretty early. I'm definitely excited for next year. Gonna have the "Life in Color" concert here in October so that should be pretty fun as well.

Wow, that would be kinda weird. I go to live shows to actually be able to *feel* the music at a level louder than I can crank it up to at our house (except for the very few times I go to solo piano or acoustic guitar shows). Nice that they found a work-around to p***ing everybody around them off late at night, though...

are they doing "life in color" at the airpark?.. I think last time it was indoors and I thought it would be so much more fun as an outdoor event.

It's at the Cox Center, which doesn't really make sense to me. If you are going to be spraying paint all over the place it would make sense to put it outside.

Agreed! I go to music festivals quite a bit and OKC should be very proud of this event! Shout out to Big G in the video and that whiny old man needs to get over himself. Trying to tell people how much bass, volume, etc.. we "need". Does he not realize how much publicity and money these concerts (especially this one which brought people from 700 miles plus here) bring to this city? I think the location couldn't be better, but I'll go next year, regardless of where they host it.

Is this about Electronic Dance Music or something else?

It is my observation that the bass at Mystik was only about half that of the Skrillex show at the Zoo earlier this year. The Mystik system was way too tinny (as in too much treble).

This type of festival should be in a location that allows it to go loud all night. Break of dawn style.

Also, fix the parking where there is more than one exit for 12,000 people.

And don't charge 10 bucks EACH DAY to park in addition to the $130 tickets.
