Ok, time for a moment of shameless self promotion. Being a longtime OKC Talk poster, posting about our own business is probably overdue. I started the Vox Public Audio brand a few years ago and it is now the core part of our business in downtown Oklahoma City. We are always looking for local customers as well as national clients.

A bit about the company-

Vox Public Audio designs, manufactures, sells, and installs commercial audio solutions for public spaces at our downtown Oklahoma City studio. Our client list includes the Oklahoma History Museum, University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, Our Lady's Cathedral, and many other high-profile local institutions as well as other installations across the United States.

We excel in musical audio solutions designed for outdoor environments including downtown main streets, plazas, parks, stadiums, and amphitheaters. Our company has developed solutions for outdoor emergency communications for schools and universities. We also design and install conventional indoor audio systems for churches, auditoriums, restaurants, and other spaces necessitating commercial audio systems.

Vox Public Audio has several patents developed for large projection speakers. Some of these speakers have been famously used by the band The Flaming Lips and travel on tour with the band.

The University of Oklahoma outdoor emergency notification system comprises our largest installation with 55, 30" outdoor projection speakers powered by 6,000 watts of amplifier power and secondary emergency auxiliary system. The second is University of Oklahoma Health Sciences center. Their outdoor audio emergency notification system is comprised of 32, 30" projection speakers and 3,000 watts of power with automatic backup's.

Vox Public Audio also restores and renovates vintage tube powered stereo consoles from the 1940's - 1972 for fun. These units are scavenged from thrift shops, garage sales, and are sometimes brought in by our customers. We rehabilitate the units and add auxiliary inputs to allow external devices such as MP3 players, televisions, and other audio devices to integrate into the historic units. These vintage consoles are resold through Plenty Mercantile, Treasure's Past, and RetrOkc.

Vox Public Audio also does acoustical consulting and evaluations for clients in Oklahoma.
