For photographer Todd Scott Ballje, a loft space in the recently renovated Midtown building called The Guardian has become the center of his social life, his work life and his family life.
Ballje said he fell in love with his split-level apartment the first time he saw it — on the ground floor of a 90-year old building that at one time housed a military uniform manufacturing company and later functioned as an auto parts factory.
The Guardian, 1117 N Robinson Ave., is one of eight properties of architectural distinction featured in this year’s Architect Tour by the American Institute of Architects Central Oklahoma Chapter. The self-guided tour, which includes both homes and commercial buildings, will be from noon to 5 p.m. April 12.
