Former Oklahoma state Sen. Gene Stipe is entitled to all his state retirement benefits because the federal felony charges to which he pleaded guilty did not violate his constitutional oath of office, an Oklahoma County judge ruled this week. District Judge Barbara Swinton ordered the Oklahoma Public Employee Retirement System to pay Stipe his monthly retirement benefit of $7,042 and all the money withheld after the system's board determined that a 1981 state law required Stipe to forfeit a portion of his benefits.

That's just WRONG, WRONG, WRONG...however, it doesn't surprise me in the least bit. Stipe is still a powerful man, and a judge just proved that. If it were you or I, they wouldn't give us a second thought.
