The OKC Boathouse Foundation has been working with the owners of Kamp's to create a dormitory for elite rowers at 9 NE 9th.

This is the building directly behind Kamp's 1910 and just two doors down from the OKC Boathouse Foundations offices at 21 NE 9th.

I'm told the conversion has already been completed and they are just waiting on occupancy permits. Looks like 9 double rooms, with a common dining hall, lounge, laundry, etc.

Really cool all the way around and will certainly help to fill in Auto Alley with some residents.

Elite rowers sounds kind of snooty. Is this the norm for this type of activity? I only party, fish or ski off a boat.

Remember, OKC is the national performance center for rowing and kayaking.

I'm sure this is to provide inexpensive living arrangements for full-time Olympic hopefuls.

I didn't know that. Cool. I hope they do it up right. Water quality will always be an issue though.

Wait we're you for real unaware about rowing? I thought you were joking until your water quality issue ( which ironically, if that's your first thought on the subject, you're right lol - and somehow the river is still an incredible success story despite the Stocktards upstream)

Yep, the same folks who also refer to all of downtown as "Bricktown".

Just what these Olympic hopefuls need, an inexpensive relaxing place to clear their BWAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!! after a hard day of traiBWAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!. This will bring some really great folks to AutomobBWWAAAAAAAA!!!!!!.

I hope the quiet zone is implemented, soon, or else I hope they use the worlds greatest sound insulation for these dormitories. When I was living in Midtown, the trains didn't bother me much but this is right on top of the tracks.
