This poor guy from Oklahoma was just trying to make a few bucks and got busted for it.

Oklahoma man arrested in alleged 'revenge porn' extortions - latimes.com (http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-ln-porn-extortion-20140214,0,6626166.story#axzz2tMzwvtDI)

An Oklahoma man who allegedly blackmailed women with nude and sexually explicit photos on his “revenge porn” website has been arrested and faces charges in California, Atty. Gen. Kamala D. Harris announced Friday.
Casey E. Meyering, 28, of Tulsa, allegedly ran the “revenge porn” website known as WinByState that featured photos either stolen from victims or posted by angry former boyfriends, Harris’ office said.
In a kind of competition among states, the website encouraged men to post photos of women they used to date or of current girlfriends.
The website then required victims to pay $250 via a Google Wallet account to remove the photographs, the officials said. That financial account, registered at a non-existent Beverly Hills storefront, was eventually traced to Meyering.

Meyering was arrested by California and Oklahoma law enforcement officers and charged with five felony extortion counts. He is resisting extradition to California.

I don't feel sorry for this guy in the least. There are thousands of ways to make money other than extortion especially when that extortion involves invading someone else's privacy. I am willing to bet some of these videos were filmed without consent of one or more persons involved in the video. People forget that the majority of women have no desire to be a porn star. Private bedroom moments are intended to be confidential and not for the enjoyment of strangers with a need for sexual release.

I see something like this and think a good old fashioned ass whoop in' is appropriate. As a start.

Good throw the book at this guy for extorting people, no one should be profiting off of pictures of someone else. But my question for women now days - why are you letting people take pictures and video with you and thinking that the relationship will never end and that it never find its way to the internet?

10 years ago someone could play dumb about how they didnt know, but now days there is absolutely no excuse. If a woman is a legal age and she is knowingly allows someone to take pictures on there phone or video of her, well what did you expect.

If I was a woman and my significant other wanted nude pictures of me, well i would be darn sure to get a bunch of him OR I would be smart enough not to do it at all.

This is dead on. I wasn't familiar with this site but another one popped up in a discussion on a legal listserve I am on. It is myex.com. (I didn't put the www. in because didn't want it to be an inbound link for them) My oldest is 14 and just got her first phone with very tight restrictions and content restriction apps this last year. My wife used that site with her to show her why you don't ever take or send pics that you wouldn't want your mother to see.

You have to keep in mind that some videos are taken without the consent of the person involved. It's not uncommon for people to install a hidden camera in there bedroom or bathroom to record their encounters. They either stash their cell phone or camcorder, use spy cams or worse use CCTV.

Then you have the fact that some have done it while intoxicated or high. Andrew Luster the Max Factor heir was a man who could have pretty much have any woman he wanted. Instead of being a man he decided to use a date rape drug on the women he partied with then he would film himself sexually assaulting women while they were knocked out. Had one of the women not discovered the videos he would probably still be doing it to this day.

I agree with you 100 percent on the hidden or secretly recorded tapes.

But if you look at a lot of the sites they are mostly 'selfies' or crude dress up.shots of women trying to be like Miley.

Don't agree with drugs and alcohol, if you or I get caught peeing in public or go streaking cops don't turn other way and say...well they aren't in there right head at the moment so they get a pass.

No one should be above the law and not responsible for their decisions if they have a few too many.

I see what the problem is.

porn: noun, pictures or video of naked women in sexual situations

I think you were confused and thinking of something else.
