A family I know, and am friends with, recently adopted a special needs girl.

She's 8 years old, from Ethiopia and is profoundly deaf. She was found
wandering the streets alone by a missionary. She had no previous ability to
communicate with anyone. An incredibly sad story but a great testimony as
to why these children shouldn't be murdered.

The youngster recently received Cochlear implants but she still needs the
use of sign language. I've been studying several sites and have found a
couple that are genuinely useful. I've been moved to want to communicate
with this incredilby beautiful child.

Is there anyone on these forums that is knowledgeable of sign language
any groups available for learning?

Thanks, Kevin. I'll look into this.

I very concerned about learning whatever she's learning. I won't see the
family for a month. I just want to learn whatever I can so in order to
communicate with the youngster and her family. I'm thinking that
learning something will help me to learn.

Thanks for your help.
