There is some dirt work occurring and the road is torn up? Obviously they are repaving it, and in cement to(thank god), but are they going to widen the whole street to I-40 and/or to Reno and reconstruct it? Just curious if anyone had some more detailed info on the plans and if it is related to the State Fair renovations.

I suspect this is part of the fairgrounds improvements, where they are adding a bunch of permanent parking where the race track used to be.

Yes but they are also doing street work it seems and it looks like plan on removing that curve on May Ave.... are there any detailed plans for this specific area other than MAPS3 plans for the fairgrounds renovation?

Awesome! That seems like it'll open up a ton of more land for new development.

BTW, how did you get that? I spent nearly an hour looking for something about the reworking of this area...

It's in the master plan for the fairgrounds which I had saved from one of the MAPS 3 committee meetings.

I was down there a couple weeks ago and it looked then like they were going to be removing the curves and making way for the grand entrance that I've heard about.

God forbid there be streets with curves in OKC

God forbid there be streets with curves in OKCWell, to be fair, they are adding a new curve on Pershing BLVD. lol

I actually would agree with you on this almost anywhere else. It just seems here it would be a better plan to have a straight road and a grand entrance. I would really more curved roads similar to the access roads in Dallas or L.A. I am not a fan of the grid because to me, it is just boring.

I hope they don't remove the curves between N.W. 10th and I-40. In the
60's I used to see how fast I could get my '59 Peugeot on that strip. Just
over 70mph was my all time high. Hey, it was a French 4 cylinder. Sheeesh!

I thought I was a Grand Prix driver.

I like roads with curves. They give a city character.

Most curves I see near the fairgrounds are on folks who, like me, are sometimes a mere 1/250 of a second and an upload from someone cracking wise on a website or instagram.

Edit: Never mind, I get it now.
