''NORMAN — The new Administrative Services Center at 131 S Flood Ave. is open for business.

Norman School District administrators moved into the building over the holiday break, although construction crews are continuing to finalize details, spokeswoman Shelly Hickman said.

Crews are waiting for warmer weather before pouring concrete for a circle drive in front of the building.

The new building has a main reception area and offices for the superintendent, assistant superintendent, communications director, the school curriculum division, athletics staff and the Norman Public School Foundation. The building also has a board room for school board meetings.

The new building is the final project from a 2009 bond issue. The $110 million bond issue, which included major improvements to middle schools and grade schools and construction of a new grade school, is paid off, Superintendent Joe Siano said.

School officials now are preparing for a Feb. 11 vote on a $126 million bond issue. Siano said the election will include two propositions — $122.5 million for about 90 school improvement projects and $3.5 million to meet transportation needs.

The five-year bond package is not expected to raise property taxes, Siano said''

Plupan, if you're still able to make a correction, the amount is $126 million instead of $216 million.
