View Full Version : Cool idea: Carry only one card
Great idea, although for $50 I'm not sure it's worth it.
Basically, you scan credit, debit, rewards cards and the like with your smarthpone, then upload the data into this card-like device, then you can select which card you want to use through a little menu, slide and use card as normal... Slick!!

tomokc 11-19-2013, 05:22 PM I saw this last week, and I agree - cool concept, but beyond the "wow" factor, I'm not sure I'd want to shell out $50 for one.
You would still have to carry your driver's license, insurance verification, etc.
As it is, I only carry those things with two or three cards anyway. For the ridiculous amount of rewards cards, you can usually just use your phone number.
kelroy55 11-19-2013, 05:42 PM I saw that and it's pretty cool but like you not sure it's worth $50
Dustin 11-19-2013, 05:53 PM Looks like a great idea, but what happens when your waitress accidentally taps the button and switches bank accounts as she's swiping your card? Now suddenly you are overdrawn in another account. I'm really interested in this because I have TONS of cards in my wallet, but I think I'll let other people give it a test run before purchasing.

I agree, plupan. I think that it could very easily become a security issue to use something like that. I don't mind carrying two or three cards. They aren't that heavy. LOL
Just the facts 11-19-2013, 09:41 PM I love it and it is going on my Christmas list - for me and the wife.
BTW - for the rewards cards we use the KeyRing app on our smart phone and it is great.

kevinpate 11-19-2013, 10:22 PM I've had a need to see more than one manager of an establishment about a problem involving a card used improperly by a staff member. So I find I am not the least bit inclined to willingly turn over a larger level of account information to strangers who wander off and do their thing with my information.

Lord Helmet 11-20-2013, 03:29 PM I'll be glad when I don't have to carry anything. Have everything tied to my thumbprint or something so I can just scan and go.

Why not? A decent wallet costs $35. That's only $15 more...

You mean the one with the introductory price of $666?
Plutonic Panda 11-21-2013, 08:53 AM You mean the one with the introductory price of $666?and 66 cents evened out in six dimes and six pennies in six different rolls.
RadicalModerate 11-21-2013, 09:42 AM Implants make sense but I don't know why you'd need one on the forehead.

BBatesokc 11-21-2013, 09:58 AM Fun concept. I keep 4 cards on me at any one time. If those were my only items (plus cash) I'd consider one. However, I also have to carry a driver's license, insurance card, health insurance card, payflex card, Sam's card, etc. So unless/until all those things can be contained in a digital wallet, I'm a no-go.

In case you don't have hands.
