Other than the street widening on 192nd and improvement of the intersection, any ideas on what is being built on the cleared land on the southeast corner?

Last I heard it will be a housing addition with homes 1700 sq ft and up

The very most SE corner is owned separately from the large tract behind it, so I would expect it to be developed for some sort of commercial use.

However, that particular corner is still zoned for agriculture so nothing is going to happen there in the near future. They would first have to seek rezoning, etc.

If you look at the newest satellite imagery from Google Earth, you can see the digging out of the soon to be neighborhood streets on the SE side of that intersection.

Yeah Garth Brook's old land was bought up and should be a substantial neighborhood going in there. As was mentioned, I would assume part of that is going to be commercial - wouldn't mind an OnCue there?

Technically, this is in OKC, not Edmond. FYI. Thread Police over and out. :)

Garth is from Yukon, which tells me they must have moved after he went to OSU.

...and technically its still an Edmond mailing address if you live there. Over and out.

Yes, Garth owned land there (well it was his mom that lived there). She died several years back. Yes, it is legally in OKC. The boundary is on the East side of Westwood Church of Christ's property, which is about halfway between Santa Fe & Western, and yes, still Edmond mailing addresses there.

It's legally OKC with an Edmond mailing address and Edmond schools while using OKC utilities lol Is the official postal code Edmond as would make sense being the mailing address.

Yes I know. If you go to Google Maps and specifically request a city, it will show you their boundaries...which is what I did before I made the post above. Don't quote me on this, but I think it's Deer Creek Schools. Only reason I say that, is because I have a friend that recently moved that way for their kids to be in that school system.

Nah, Edmond schools. http://www.edmondschools.net/Portals/0/images/map_district_boundaries.jpg

Either way, I'm not sure it matters. There's a whole segment of folks who consider themselves "Edmondnites" who live out in that area. Shoot, there are at least 2 or 3 Edmond schools that are physically outside of Edmond city limits.

Yes, there is a thin strip along the Kilpatrick Turnpike that puts kids in Santa Fe High School even though their address is OKC.
