Just had to look it up: It's a split pea and tomato soup with extra vegetables.

I took the tour from 1956 until 1961... Really I visited about 5 years
ago and it was superb. Alcatraz is over romanticized but the trip is
worth every minute. Each guest is provided with a self guiding tour
that provides an illustrative history as well what life was like on
The Rock.

Huh...I just learned something. Reading that menu, it looks like they used the word "Dinner" for the lunchtime meal and "Supper" for what I would call dinner. I've always thought the two terms were interchangeable for referring to the evening meal. I tend to use the terms lunch and dinner most of the time, but I have family back east that tends to use the word supper at dinner time. However, I've never heard them call a lunch a dinner. A quick Google search reveals there is quite a variation in the usage of those terms around the country.

A lot of my family, mostly from Kansas, still refers to lunch as dinner and dinner as supper.

I started using lunch and dinner when we moved to Oklahoma when I was a kid.

Mine in Nebraska did too.

Both of my parents were born and bred Okies, but we were taught that the noon meal was dinner and the evening meal was supper. Might be be something to do with being raised moving around in the military.

The breakfast menu alone will keep you regular.
