I am trying to decide which fireworks display to photograph Thursday evening. Please share what communities will be shooting fireworks, the times and launch points. Thanks!

Who has the biggest display in the state? I'd guess Jenks. I haven't seen it but have heard it is pretty spectacular.

It depends on what you call a display. Mustang is amazing, not because of the organized display, but because of the multitudes of people shooting off fireworks from every inch of the city and completely filling up the sky everywhere you look.

I mean which city spends the big bucks.

Edmonds is pretty big, but I doubt its the biggest.

That's hard to grasp how it's accepted, since in most cities it's against the law to even be in possession of fireworks or shoot them off. What are they trying to prove? That it's a myth that fireworks shouldn't be banned in town, because the town isn't going to burn down. Kids aren't going to get hurt.

Amen to that. Scares the heck out of most critters. Has that 70's Beirut feel to it.

They aren't trying to "prove" anything. I can't say that there have been no problems but Mustang manages it very well with minimal issues after many years of experience.

The folks that live in Mustang are fairly good about cleaning up their mess. The out-of-towners not so much. Wild Horse Park will have debris blowing around for months.

We went to Edmond, parked in the UCO parking lot, and had a fantastic view of the fireworks. We are never disappointed going up there. They had a great show this year and the weather cooperated.

Yukon has always been our show of choice.

Here's another one for the UCO fireworks display:

I think this video is even better since, being unedited, you get the full "You Are There" experience.

Went to Mustang for the 2nd time. I had more fun this year than I did last year. Most everyone was respectful of each other when firing off their stuff. I have not seen any show that compares to the 360-degree experience of Wild Horse park. The great thing is that you can come and go at nearly any time and not feel like you missed anything. From sundown to 11:00pm it's a constant barrage of color and sound. I wonder how much of an economic impact this holiday has on the local economy. I know I spent a couple hundred $, but my purchase was small potatoes compared to a lot of what was being shot off.

And I don't live in Mustang, but I left with two giant trash bags full of debris from us and the group next to us. I figure if they are good enough to let people do this, I would at least do my part to make sure they keep allowing it. :Smiley199

My pleasure. :D

A friend of mine did a time-lapse of Wild Horse Park on Thursday. It didn't turn out as well as expected due to auto-focusing issues, but it's still pretty cool. I'll post it up once I find the link again.
