Hobby Lobby has bought a large parcel just east of Quail Springs Mall and west of Home Depot for a large shopping center to be anchored by their Hemispheres concept, which is primarily home furnishings.

The existing Hemispheres location on NW Expressway will be consolidated into this new one.

There is also a Hemispheres being constructed at SW 19th & Telephone Road in Moore and six other locations in the Dallas / Ft. Worth area.

9.28 acres. That's a pretty big parcel.
Wonder how much they paid for it?

That is a big lot, surprised it's taken this long to develop considering where it is.

It's certainly a better location for the store than where they are on NW Expressway. You really have to know where that store is ahead of time to find it.

Even though it is located on the way to somewhere else (one of the entrances to the Mall, they are still hiding themselves to an extent...behind the Home Depot and the other strip malls. When you are Walmart, it doesnt matter, folks will find you but this just seems odd. Hobby Lobbys don't typically hide themselves like this.

I agree that the new location is not a whole lot better than the old. It surprises me that Hemispheres does well enough to think about moving and expanding. I drive by the existing location often and there never seems to be many vehicles in the lot.

Pete, do you know what Arch firm designs these? Or does Hobby Lobby have in house architecture?

Uhhhh, the Hemispheres store on Northwest Expressway wasn't exactly known to me until recently when I took a backroad from Wilshire by Lake Hefner to the Bike One store right behind Hideaway Pizza. That store isn't necessarily shining like a Las Vegas casino...

OKCisOK4me: that is what I am saying...the curent location hasn't been great (it was originally a Home Depot/Lowes type store...HomeOwners Warehouse, which became known as Mr. How)...just not seeing the new location as being that much better...the plus is that even though it is hiding behind the other strip malls and big box stores, it is at least on the way to the Mall (if you are coming from that direction).
