Tried this on Craig's List and endured crazy replies. However, I have been impressed with this site so much that I will take the risk. Cultural Homestay International is a nonprofit foreign exchange agency based in San Francisco. CHI students are carefully selected, are between 15-18 years old, and come from over 30 countries. They have applied for a high school year abroad in the USA. However, they need families to host them. If your family or one you know might be interested in hosting you can contact us at www.chi-oklahoma.com or at chi-okla@cox.net. CHI will provide each host family and school with a comprehensive application including a letter from the student, recommendations from two teachers, including the English teacher, medical and immunization records, school transcripts, and general information including hobbies and interests. Families can pick the student they think will fit best. Full family and student orientation provided, along with monthly checks on the student's progress which is sent to their natural family. This is not for everyone, but families who have experienced hosting say that their host son or daughter becomes a life long member of the family. Students come with their own spending money and full health insurance. Appreciate any interest or referrals anywhere in Oklahoma. Thanks.
