Does anyone know of a place I could find Candy Apples (hard red shell) during this time of year? Caramel Apples would be good to but Id love to find real candy apples. I know there is a place in Norman that I think sells them but I was hoping to find somewhere a little closer to OKC (I am in south okc)

There is a man that sells caramel apples and cotton candy between 29th and 44th on Shields most days. Don't know if he speaks any English but pointing is a universal language.

May want to call around to a candy store or try a Russell Stover store to see if they sell them locally, their website has caramel and cinnamon candy apples

Caramel apples are VERY easy to make - check out the produce aisle and chances are they'll have the caramel wraps nearby. Takes about a minute, including opening the package.

Personally, I'd avoid these vendors. They are the one's with the long pole full of cotton candy. They are often along shields and even go over to the plaza district. One of the vendors is a former(ish) long time homeless street prostitute and drug addict from Robinson and the sanitation practices are 'questionable.'

I'd hate to be felled by a nasty candy apple.
