Mississippi Blues 03-01-2013, 11:13 PM There was a thread recently about Aldi's planning on building more stores in the OKC metro. Snowman 03-02-2013, 12:55 AM None of Yukon, NW expressway somewhere, Norman or NE Edmond would surprise me. ljbab728 03-02-2013, 01:20 AM I'm not quite sure what you mean but there is already an Aldi's on NW Expressway at Rockwell. I just googled a map for them, it must have been old Jon27 03-02-2013, 11:25 AM I heard a rumor that they are building at NW 10th and HWY 92/Garth Brooks Blvd on the SW corner. Seems like an odd spot. It would be across from Joe Cooper and Domino. May be a good idea since there are so many housing additions in that area. I've never been in an Aldi. dalelakin 03-04-2013, 07:35 PM I've never been in an Aldi. Produce and milk are fantastic deals there. Jon27 05-04-2013, 09:03 AM I posted this in another thread also. They started working across from Domino and Joe Cooper. Wonder if this is the rumored Aldi? kinggober 07-02-2013, 02:38 PM Building permit for Aldi at 10th and Cemetery was issued on 6/19. Looks like this is no longer just a rumor! Jon27 07-02-2013, 07:51 PM The coming soon sign is up as of today also. On a side note, the new grocery section at Target isn't bad. Between Aldi, Target, and the occasional Homeland, I hope to not have to go to Wal-Mart unless absolutely necessary! The Yukon Wal-Mart is always out of stuff, aisles are way too narrow, and it's always filthy. Snowman 07-02-2013, 07:58 PM ..., I hope to not have to go to Wal-Mart unless absolutely necessary! Yea, when they lost the manager they had at least like five years ago it really got worse, the line length has been my biggest complaint after that person left. I have not used them for groceries since I realized homeland went to 24 hours. Now we just need them to build a Crest out here. kevinpate 07-03-2013, 05:33 AM Yea, when they lost the manager they had at least like five years ago it really got worse, the line length has been my biggest complaint after that person left. I have not used them for groceries since I realized homeland went to 24 hours. I rarely go into a Wal-mart anymore. No hatred, but I'm not up at 2-3 in the am much anymore like I used to be, and if you go during daylight hours it's never going to be as entertaining as shopping during the pre-dawn hours. But to hear my lovely tell it, the changes you noted at your location may only be coincidental to the departure of that manager. Local WM issues regarding stock and line depth changed about that same time. Possibly just a change up in general on how things were addressed. That's never going to happen. I think Norman will be the 1st OK city to get a Costco store. Jon27 07-06-2013, 09:08 PM Why not wish for a Costco instead?? ;) Yeah right!! Brett 11-30-2013, 04:22 AM I visited the Yukon Aldi yesterday. Not sure when it officially opened but it is definitely a nice store. |
