Last year I bought a Canon EOS T3I to take better shots of family and my kids sporting events. But to this day I have not been able to acheive anything better than point and shoot quality pictures. Does anyone know of any good classes or any photographer willing to give tips on taking good pictures. I know my way around the camera but do not know how to do the settings to take good shots. I have a couple books but I am a hands on person and would rather have someone show/tell me how.

Thanks

We have a number of talented shutterbugs amongst us here. Maybe chaeck out the Devon thread, just one example of many, and offer to buy someone coffee or lunch and swap tips, stories, etc.

Francis Tuttle offers a few short course photography classes. I took the basic/intro to photog class a few years ago and it will help you move past the automatic setting on your camera.

This is a great class and is a bargain for the price. I enjoyed it.

Thanks I will look into these options. The wife is tired of blurry shots :)
