The principal of Douglass High School resigned Wednesday, two weeks after he was suspended amid allegations of cheating and fraud.

Brian Staples was suspended with pay Oct. 10.

Former students and staff members accused Staples of fixing grades and hiding absences.

Oklahoma City Public Schools officials said an investigation into the allegations is complete and the results have been turned over to state and federal education officials and the Oklahoma County district attorney's office.

A group of former teachers and students, along with the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, first brought the allegations against Staples to the Oklahoma City School Board in June.

The district hired an independent attorney to investigate the claims.

A team of administrators will run Douglass High School during Staples's suspension.

In documents given to the school board, former teachers and students accuse Staples of committing and allowing inappropriate behaviors at Douglass, 900 Martin Luther King Ave.
