Not sure if the new garden plaza is completely open yet (at last reports it was very close), but the airport's website has a couple of pictures of a new Will Roger's statue that looks pretty sharp:

I wish they'd put up some photos of the new facade.

Looks dandy. I like the new native stone facade along the wall between the arrival and departure roadways. Notice the new glass pyramids, I don't know what they're for, but they add a cool effect, IMO.

Also notice the modern canopy for the departure roadway.

They will post new photos as the expansion progresses.

I believe the pyramid is a skylight for the underground tunnel between the parking structure and terminal.

I'm very pleased with the overall design. Looking forward to seeing it in person this fall.

Yup, you're right about those pyramids Malibusooner!

I was just at the airport a few weeks ago when returning from my honeymoon, and the place looked outstanding. They weren't through with the gardens at that time, but I'm willing to bet, they're getting close.

BTW, the native stone facade lines the airside of the main terminal as well. It looks absolutely fantastic.

I would say the designers were pretty daring with stonework, and I know some people don't like it at all.

But I like it a great deal and think the whole place is going to be beautiful when complete.

Even if we don't increase our air serice (perish the thought! :) ) I give the trust credit for doing a great job and vastly improving the first impression of the city with air travelers.
