Okay, I was driving home from the gym today at about 2pm on NW 50th bridge over the Hefner Parkway (I-44) and noticed a huge police escort, escorting about 6 Greyhound type busses getting onto the Interstate. Anyone know what this was about?? It was almost like the scene out of Boiler Room where they were busting all the illegitamate stockbrokers.

I don't know what the escort was for, and I don't want to nit pick, but.......

I-44 turns east at the 39th Expressway. LHP is Hwy 74 at 50th, not I-44. Sorry, this is one of my pet peeves. People tell me I-44 and NW Expressway. I always ask if they mean I-44 and NW Expressway (Penn Square Mall/50 Penn Place), or if they mean LHP/Hwy 74 and NW Expressway (Baptist Hospital).

Usually it's the other way around:LolLolLol

I saw it too in the same location. That thing was huge! I don't have a clue what it was though, and the windows were far too dark to see in.

youre right oklacity75, and I fessed up to it like a man to show I am human and error prone. although I usually point out errors of getting way off topic or not reading posts before duplicating posting and not technical errors.

someone call the police department and just act like a concerned citizen trying to find out information

So, when I-44 cuts to the East, does the continued northward stretch of highway automatically become Lake Hefner Parkway?

That is a very interesting question. That stretch of road is quite a jumble. While headed on I-44 westbound, the exit says "Hwy 74/Lake Hefner Parkway." But the lights at NW Expressway say "Grand Blvd." If it is not already, all of it should be named Lake Hefner Parkway for simplicity sakes. If not, you would be on I-44, Grand Blvd, and Lake Hefner Parkway all within a couple miles without ever exiting.

Well, the service road between NW Expressway and NW 50th has always been known as Grand Blvd...because it once was Grand Blvd....Grand Blvd. turns to the east just north of NW 63rd St. and you're left without a service road the rest of the way.

I'd be interested to know exactly where Hefner Parkway starts. I've always just thouht it started where Hwy 74 leaves from I-44.

It was probably prisioners being moved from one jail to another. They have opened several new county jails lately. Then again it could have been political officials.

i doubt it was prisoners going down 50th, there isnt a facility near there. it may however, been teams for the softball world series staying in a nearby hotel
