Love's is building a new 70,000 square foot corporate office on the city's northwest side, along with all the other garden style 3 story office buildings out there....

Guess they decided to move rather than upgrade the Loves right next door to the existing corporate office (an embarrassment)

Where is this located, exactly?

Isn't that their current location?

That address is their current location. They have a few small buildings there now.

They also have a large tract directly behind (west) of those structures, but I haven't seen a building permit for anything new.

They own everything in yellow:

wow, i've driven by their current corporate office and it actually looks pretty nice for that area. so, are they building an addition to this office or are they doing a completely new building? i would assume that the land they own would be sufficient to house a new 70,000 sq ft office?

Yeah, 70,000 sounds more like an annex..

the project just bid a couple weeks ago, anyone know if it's been awarded to a GC yet?

Isn't this around the 122nd area-ish

Hefner and Penn.

And yes the building their planning is an annex. They lease out space at Lake Park Tower on Merdian and 63rd and the main campus is filled to compacity.

They also need to tear down the old automative shop next door to the Loves store so they can build a bigger and nicer store.

They really need to do something with that store...with it being at their front door it needs to be the flagship or at least not such a downright embarrassment.

That was an old shell station they bought and did a minimal conversion.

But I agree, that property does not reflect well on their company HQ.

Construction is about to begin. Equipment is now onsite.

Very strange as I cannot find any sort of building permit.

Pete

And now I realize this is technically in The Village, so that's why the permit has never shown up in the OKC system.

Yep. Drove by the area yesterday. What a dump the village and this quadrant of NW/NE OKC has become.

Yeah, I think north of Britton and along May aren't bad, but I think it's interesting that the closer to Nichols Hills (which is still as nice as always, if not perhaps even nicer with a rash of new infills and remodels lately) the dumpier The Village gets.

It's also amazing to me how much vacant land sits between Quail Springs and The Village.

The pawn shop next to Hefner is getting ready to move across the street into the shopping center by Buy for Less so that's a big downgrade for them.

They are also forming up and getting ready to pour the first series of walls on the ground before lifting them into place so as you can imagine it will be just like Paycom and many other office buildings you find along Memorial. Should make for a nice addition to this area either way.

I drove by this area today, this building is really coming along. Its three story and looks very big. Much bigger than their current buildings. The question I have is whether there will be a connection from this building to the others as its separated from the others by quite a bit at least 100 yards

Nope, just the bridge connecting the two parking lots. Its not really that far apart when you consider that they are leasing out space all the way out at 63rd and Meridian.

It's pretty far apart when the weather sucks.

Channel Four just reported that Love's has bought a few former Chesapeake buildings to use for corporate employees. Didn't catch if that meant moving the HQ. If so, that seems in contrast to them building new. I'll try to find a link.

They are definitely not moving headquarters. They just build a three-story 60,000+ sq foot building to expand their headquarters at penn and Hefner. However, they are growing so quickly that that building is pretty much already full. I suspect this is why they bought these from Chesapeake.

Loves remodeled the store in front of their corporate office. They expanded it and added a Subway. Looks a lot better now.
