I've been getting redirected to some weird places when I go to certain sites. When I click on links on CNN.Com I get redirected to a weird page. It doesn't happen to all links I click on and sometimes I get sent to a different location.

When I click on a link on a sports site I get sent to:

I've deleted the cookies that had those names but it keeps happening and the cookies reappear. I've run my debug and also AdAware Pro but it still happens. Any suggestions?

Check your add-ons/extentions, if you see any that you either recently added or did not knowingly get, try disabling or removing them then see if that behavior continues.

More extreme option is to remove flash, java and firefox; then do fresh installs of each. Though might want to try exporting bookmarks first.

By George I think getting rid of some add on's did the trick. I kept getting a sex site popping up and had no idea where it was coming from. Thanks !!!!

That "redirecting" thing is also a sympton of a TDSS rootkit virus.
(Allegedly difficult to remove)
Glad that your relatively simple fix seemed to work.

I better change my password... I think my dogs are surfing sex sites while I'm at work.

Substitute "CNN" for "Bacon" . . .
Problem solved! =)

Please be Advised: This doesn't contain a TDSS Rootkit Virus =)

I downloaded this and ran it and fortunately it didn't find anything. The getting rid of the add-ons must have taken care of it.

Firefox is a real cool browser, but Google Chrome is trying to catch up to it.
