Yup, that's the one. One of my favorite buildings also. I was told the building west of it was not purchased. Again, this is just from someone who heard it from someone who is a Bricktown building owner.

There hasn't been any building permits or signs of work there and the building has been actively marketed for sale over the last year.

A broker was hired, a website and professional flyer created, etc. Sounds like they may have a contract now but nothing yet registered with the County Assessor.

That wasn't really the news I was hoping for. I thought those two buildings would be great for retail. But I'm glad that lovely building will be restored.

They may still make some or all of the ground floor retail.

At least it went to an owner with a good track record of restoration.

Application before the Bricktown Design Review Committee to renovate this building.... The owners are not wasting any time.

No details yet (other than "exterior renovation") but I look forward to having new life back in this structure.

I would expect a pretty standard office renovation, will probably require complete finishings, a couple million dollars. We know Standley wants to use this building for their offices...

It would be a lot cheaper to turn this building, which I presume is mostly unfinished inside, into loft spaces... especially if the city code was more conducive.

I wonder how much a Bricktown loft could fetch, especially in the little corner of Bricktown that is still authentic. Ah well, I share the sentiment that I am glad to see this building see new life and be restored.

Already gutted. I too was anticipating a lot more. I can't help but wonder if Standley needed some cash flow with the old grocer building they've already mostly finished and needed their office to be done a little more cheaply, although the sale price of the iron works building doesn't corroborate that. The only thing that does is how long the construction site was boarded up on the old grocer building, especially just after they painted it red..

maybe the asbestos has already been removed that would bring down the costs considerbly or they could be doing the project in phases to get some of the building operating sooner.

Those look like good HP-oriented modifications at first glance and with limited info. The wooden (I would guess) loft door is a nice touch. Wondering if that came from an old photo of the building.

The renovation is underway. Yesterday, a large portion of the exterior mortar was repointed, and it looks much better. It looked like a crew of about 10 was there this morning.

I believe that the pedicab company in Bricktown is now based out of the garage there. I saw them pulling in and out last weekend

BTW, the parking lot immediately behind these two buildings if for sale as well.

Would still love to see the foundry building turned into a cool restaurant/bar. With everything else that is happening on Main Street the time is now!

I stopped and asked one of the workers the other day and he said it was going to be a showroom for a furniture company. Can't confirm. That was probably 3 weeks ago.

Manager of Bricktown Bike Cabs here. The east building where all of the massive renovations are happening is going to have an architecture firm in it I believe. In the garage where we are at the owner just replaced all of the windows that are in the back of the building facing the parking lot, they really improved the look of the place. In the garage there it would take some really MAJOR renovations to turn it into a commercial space.Don't think he's looking to sell the foundry building anytime soon as far as I know.

“The building can support up to seven floors, so we can always add more space if

In an community as large as Oklahoma City, the company could have moved anywhere,
but they wanted to move to Bricktown to be a part of the growing area.

“(Greg and Tim) thought Bricktown was an area that had a great combination of excitement
and energy,” Peltier said. “The move allowed them to assist with the redevelopment
in the area.”

It looks repainted, rather than sandblasted. But I could be wrong.

Yeah, this was definitely not repainting. I saw a couple of guys out there three weeks ago or so cleaning the brick.

I checked the approved plans from the Bricktown Design Review Committee, and the owners promised to re-point the brick and then clean all the stone.

Existing window frames were cleaned, repaired and painted.


Very interested to see the interiors, which should soon be complete.

Brick is obviously re-pointed. You can clean stone like that by soda blasting (rather than sand blasting). You can also bleach a lot of the mildew stains out of cast stone. Just like spraying Tilex on your shower.

As would the old cracker building that is hiding behind the metal shell that is the current Uhaul building. That would be the real gem of Bricktown if restored.
