My wife and I have really gotten into 'mud runs.' Basically taking a 5K or 10K off road and adding military inspired obstacles in a family (over 16yrs old) fun environment for those who want to challenge themselves and have good time.

We've done them in Oklahoma and Texas and can't get enough. So far we've just done the 5K versions, but are training for an 11 mile Tough Mudder later this year.

Wondering if anyone else here is into them and has any reviews or events dates to share.

These are ones in Oklahoma this year (most we will be participating in);

The Patriot Games - 3/24/2012 - Oklahoma/Texas border

Bedlam Mud Run - 4/14/2012 - Lazy-E Arena

The Dirty 30 - 5/12/2012 - Mulhall, OK

Red Mud Run - 5/20/2012 - OKC, OK

Fitness Freak Mud Run - 5/26/2012 - Ardmore, OK

Warrior Dash - 6/2/2012 - Morris, OK

The Color Run - 6/23/2012 - Tulsa, OK (not a 'mud' run, but still pretty 'dirty')

Tatur Mud Run - 8/4/2012 - Tulsa, OK

Mud Factor - 10/13/2012 - Wellston, OK

Texas mud races we are also participating in.

Wild West Adventure Race - 5/5/2012 - Grandview, TX

Tough Mudder 10/6/2012 - Austin(ish), TX

Anybody know of any others or have any reviews/suggestions?

Did the Dirty 30 last year when it was at the end of July and hotter than hell. They only had three water stations and got a lot of complaints about that, so hopefully they'll have more. Other than that (and the really long line to wash off the mud, it baked first), it was a great experience.

You'd fit right in at a Warrior Dash. Just slap a horned viking helmet on and grab a beer mug.
