So I went into a Automobile Alley restaurant to pick up a couple of to-go items. While standing there two girls come in and wait to be seated. While they are waiting they enter into a very, very graphic make out session. I won't go into what they did and how long it lasted but it was just weird. I would have been weired out if it had been a husband and wife. I was trying to decide if they were trying to make a point or if was just a shock value stunt. What would you have done if this took place in front of you our your family with children? How would you handle it?

I would have smiled at them being happy and not given it a second thought.

Sounds like they wanted to make a scene and I would have done my best to ignore them.

If it was really bothering anyone they could have asked the management to say something to them.

OK, MDot, you're not old enough. Get your mind out of the gutter. LOL

I don't sense what they were trying to accomplish had anything to do about being happy.

Either talk to management or tell them to get a room. Sounds like a stunt to me, unfortunately.

Sociology experiment?

I would have ignored it. I would have ignored it if it had been a man and woman, or two men, as well. But, I'm pretty anti-PDA (at least that extreme of PDA) in public, anyway.

I would have told them they got the attention they were looking for, have a nice meal.

Lesbians that I've encountered are weird and walk around like they have to prove something to everyone else. My recommendation is to take out your cell phone and get some video, if they raise hell then say 'last time i checked this is a public place, obviously it doesn't bother you that everyone else sees what you are doing'.

I suppose it's reasonably safe to conclude we run in different circles. When folks I know yak about or lean toward being in PDA mode, it's almost always been a hetro couple, whether long established or a couple de jour.

They were probably doing for the thrill from people watching or doing it to cause scene and bark about it on YouTube about how they were mistreated. Not saying a word is the best thing people could have done. I have noticed there is a large core section of people out there that were given too much attention or not enough attention as children. Therefore they want to do everything they can to make a scene. When they are called out for it they blame the end results on everyone else around them. If you had said something about it or a restaurant employee had said something they would have caused a scene.

Few people are taught that self control and shame are good things. Yet we have respect for others and keep certain things behind closed doors and we appreciate it when others do the same. You can be the most beautiful person in the world yet, people still don't want to see you getting sloppy while they eat their dinner. Most of us in the adult know people are into alternative lifestyles and have known it for years.

That's the kind of event that would have shocked someone in the 60's or 70's not 2012.

This might have been appropriate, though perhaps only if said with a bit of a smile -

The wife and I went to Vegas and saw Siegfried and Roy make a pair of white tigers fly around the room. Your act's nothing special.

(perhaps the best of the few good lines from MiB2)

I'll give that one a 10, Kevin.
(on a scale of 1 to 10)

Perhaps not for "originality" but for recognizing the perfect application of the zinger. =)

Another possible approach, though not one I would recommend.

Next time, interrupt and ask them "If they are going to throw some sugar your way?"
