ATM's are being pulled out of buildings because of new ADA (Americans with Disability Act Guidelines). Does anyone know what the issue is? How are the machines not compliant with the ADA guidelines?

I think this mentions something about March 2012.

It looks like a nice kick-back for Diebold. I wonder if they lobbied for the new standards?

The machines are grandfather until they need to do major renovations, replace the machines or build a new structure. If any are done then they would need to have compliment ones go in.

March 15, 2012 is when the 2010 ADA standards go into effect.

The ADA is a good thing but every time I hear it I am reminded of the people out there who abuse the laws and and use extortion methods just to get money . And this is coming from someone whos sister is an amputee.
