Ive been meaning to post this for a month or so, but haven't seen anyone post on it yet. Downtown has a nice new magazine now since Downtown Magazine went away when they merged into Slice. This new magazine is a breath of fresh air, high quality, and probably the best formal source for news Downtown. (of course OKCTalk is the best news source that isn't traditional media).

Anyone else read this yet?

The first thing I saw on that page was this:

"Right now in downtown Oklahoma City there are 52,000 people going to work daily and 7,600 going home at the end of the day"

52,000 people work downtown???

No. I think you can get to 52,000, however, if you include the health sciences center area. The magazine itself is a second attempt at a downtown mag by Matt Mattison. It has very nice feature stories by some good freelance writers and should be a welcome addition to the downtown conversation.

I just flipped through this mag on my iPad. The Mayor story was interesting. I need to get that meeting with him arranged soon. I didn't know what the Mayor's office entrance looked like.

This is the figure the Chamber has been throwing around for years. As Steve said, you'd need to throw in the HSC area to get there. No way in Heck that many work in the CBD alone, although I wish!

When you go, make sure he offers you the official drink of the Mayors Office.

Anyone else catch the short story on Film Row saying that the International Photography Hall of Fame is slated to move to 726 W. Sheridan (The Hart building is what it looks like it would be) sometime in the next year?

So when does the OkcTalk online magazine start up?

No need for a hard copy version, online and dynamic up to the minute is way better than the traditional press.

Just wanted to say thanks for all the nice comments about the magazine. I got the stats on workers from Downtown okc, Inc. website and yes it does include Oklahoma Health Center. And this is not a Mattison magazine. It is 100% me and my team. Kathy Bentley Publisher, Downtown OKC Life & Style

Forgive me - that conclusion was arrived at when I saw Matt make a couple of introductions related to this. My bad.
