First Name: William or Will

He is one of the very few members (actually the one being the most impressive) regularly provide videos and pictures for various projects, skylines, and locations. He is currently pursuing Photography (alongside Videography) and is in urgent need of equipment replacement. Every little bits will greatly assist his goal and forever appreciated! Any amount is a-okay! One-time, weekly, or monthly...however you can budget to help our fellow brother to enhance his services for OKCTalk and OKC/Oklahoma. It is very important, because his talent, skill, and style can potentially land him awesome job, gig, and/or career. For everyone that knows him know the countless hours, hard work, and dedication he put into his work. So, help him out, please! Pass it onto your family and friends. Post anywhere else. Steve, post info in your blog. Doug, post info in your blog. Lets give Will a huge boost! Trust me, Will has been enhancing the image of OKC in such a glorious way!

My name's Will and I've lived in Oklahoma City all my life. I have a passion for our city and we have experienced more growth in the past 5-10 years than I have ever witnessed, with much more to come. It's the best time in decades to live in OKC and watch the progress change the image of our city.

Since August 2010 I've been trying out videography and handling a camcorder for the first time. I had previously taken up photography from 2004 to 2006. Just like videography, photography was a new experience for me but I picked it up quickly.

I have done many videos since 2010 but the main project I worked on and continue to do is the construction progress of the city's newest and tallest skyscraper, Devon Energy Center Tower. I had an interest in architecture and skyscrapers long before this 850 foot building broke ground so you can imagine my excitement the day the first images were revealed. I had only hoped our city would build a new skyscraper some day. Our last tallest building was completed in the early 70's.

From August 2010 to April 2011 I shot the construction progress of Devon Tower since it was five stories tall. In May, I began dabbling in timelapse videography. My video camera has the option for that and I figured there could be no better subject than this $750 million dollar project. I was amazed at what you don't see once the video is sped up. I did five timeslapse videos from May through September 2011.

I slowly started thinking of picking up photography again and was extremely impressed on the DSLR footage and films I had seen on Vimeo and elsewhere. There's something about the versatility and cinematic quality you get from a digital SLR that I was never that impressed with on my camcorder. There's a certain film quality you just don't get with what I have. Certainly night video is much better with the versatility of exchanging different lenses.

Needless to say, I did spent a small fortune at the time in 2004 on the photography gear I got. My old Canon 10D is very outdated by today's standards. Small LCD screen, USB 1.0. There's also a new model of the standard lens too. From what I've seen of the Canon EOS 7D, it is going to be what I aim to replace it with. Also the new standard lens and a telephoto. $5000 is a rough estimate on what it would take to get me back into photography, including other accessories such as a memory card and extra battery.

I've never tried raising money this way but I'm hoping for the best. If you have enjoyed my work in 2011, I hope I can do even more better work in 2012. Thanks in advance if you help contribute in any way!

Grand Total Goal: $5,000

Once again, think about all the time that Will went out on his own time to deliver us great pictures and videos. He was not being paid to do any of that! So, at least, we should join together and repay him with generous gratitude in the form of dollars. Factor in the active members, active guests (lurkers that wouldn't make an account), and the average donation amount, Will's goal can be accomplished!

For each person donating $100, I will give a set of crocheted Checkers game complete with buttons and bag. A friend made it (pictured below) and I am waiting for her to make it again, so she can write down the pattern as she do it, then I should be able to make them, but only after confirmation of $100 donors from Will.

We can either do the normal red/black colors or custom colors (also depend on certain buttons size available for whatever colors). Delivery can either be picked up at the market or where I live.

Or a couple of small cotton dishcloths (can also be used as hot pads). Picture Example

Is that enough incentive to donate?

He just raised $200! If someone donated over $100, limmie know. Lets keep the money flowing! Still a long way to achievement.
