The newest iconic bridge to grace downtown Dallas! The Margaret Hunt Hill bridge designed by famed architect Callatrava had it's first lighting cermony that overshadows the skyline of big D! It is quite visually stunning lit up at night.

I'm sorry but your link doesn't come through unless you're a subscriber to the Morning News. I've seen pics before though and it's very nice.

Why do we care so much about Dallas?Because there are of lot of people in this town that suffer from Dallas envy. BTW, I am not one of them.

I agree, neither do I. I posted a new thread about this on the urban area

I've seen the bridge I can't see above before. Pretty butt ugly in my opinion. Then again, I have a dislike for Dallas so who knows.

What an immature response. Are you in 3rd grade?

No, it's practically due west of downtown just north of I-30.

No, quite mature actually. I live in Virginia, could care less about a new bridge in Dallas, but I do care about new highways etc in my home State

You don't have to care about, but if others do you don't have to throw a hissy fit by starting a rant. Big time overreaction.

Funny how you dish someone for caring about Dallas and you live in Virginia while posting on OKCTALK.

Has anyone calculated how many carbon offset payments it takes to cover the carbon footprints involved in this thing? (HeWenttoJared . . . ? =)

How can "They" justifiy--even in the name of "Art-Kistchtexture"--providing so many pigeon perching places (that lead, inevitably to destruction of the non-frilly structural components of the functional part of the bridge)?

Who is the Zakim that purchased Bunker Hill and renamed it?

The bridge opened in 2003 and was part of Boston's Big Dig,and here is the history of the bridge and why it is named that http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leonard_P._Zakim_Bunker_Hill_Memorial_Bridge

Post #17 seems to indicate that it is actually more of a bridge decoration rather than an actual bridge . . . doesn't it?

I guess it's just a form as compared to function thing . . .

Yes it is. =)

He's looking at a picture of The Dr. Who Bridge in Iowa--provided by Sam Elliot (disguised as UrbanNebraska)--and thinking:
"If I had about five Causasians [White Russians] under my belt that could be a fun ride . . ." (as he was channelling Sheetkicker.)

Of course, with five White Russians under it, he would probably need a longer belt.
