I thought I had read/heard that the Devon Tower would be the tallest building not only in Oklahoma but also taller than any building in the Dallas area. But today I read the CityPlex Towers in Tulsa (old ORU medical building) has 60 floors. Does anyone know if this is accurate or not?

Tallest in height not number of floors.

Originally it would've been taller than anything in Dallas by 4-ft but it got scaled back some but it is still almost 200-ft taller than the BOK Tower (tallest in Tulsa(667-ft).

That building does have 60 floors, but the floor to ceiling heights are lower.

We could also point out that this building has 52 floors, which is two more than Devon, but like MDot said, it is between 150 and 200 feet shorter than Devon.

According to Devon's pilots - who know a little bit about airspace and their employer's building - say that the building tops out at 2,043' above sea level. I didn't get the height AGL. If anyone knows the elevation of their sidewalk, then we've got an answer! Lackmeyer - are you awake yet?

cit elevation 1200 feet above sea level, give or take a foot or three(ish), depending on where in town you are at. I can't say specifically for right at Devon tower, but i suspect that 1200 is real close.

Wiley Post is 1,299' MSL, Will Rogers 1,295', Norman Westheimer 1,182'. YMMV.

The approximate height ASL at the Devon site is approximately 1,198 feet.

The number of floors really has no correlation to height because the floor-to-floor height varies so much on every building. The Bank of America Tower in Dallas has 72 floors and is 921 ft, the building where my office was located in downtown Dallas (Bryan Tower) was 40 stories but only 512 feet. We tend to use a much taller floor-to-floor height now than when those buildings were designed in the early 70's (Bryan Tower) and early 80's (BoA Tower). In Japan they still tend to use an smaller floor-to-floor height than in the US as they not only try to maximize footprint but maximize vertical use. The building that we did an interior finish out project in had the duct work running through the structure.

Some buildings also omit a 13th floor. To be accurate in total number of floors, one must know if that was the practice.

Thank you, I forgot to mention that.
