Wow, it doesn't seem there was that many, so I have to conclude it was all out in the country pastures and very far away from the OKC metro. To me, this was the year I rarely saw any tornado...more like a disappointing time waiting for the excitement that would never come. Here's to hoping that next year will be better and to hope that I'd get to chase one on video.

Meanwhile, for your viewing pleasure, here is a video from 1998, showcasing one of the closest calls Stillwater has ever had with a tornado since last being seriously hit by one in 1990. The video was captured at such a good, showy, vantage point that I think it's worthy of many more than a mere 201 or so views. The tornado barely stayed outside the city. If I recall correctly, a photo of this tornado was taken with a lightening bolt beside it and was placed in many newspapers, including some outside the U. S.

It probably should be "1st Violent November Tornado Ever" instead of what is there. Someone just failed hard core on grammar to make it work with their graphic.

Well, all tornadoes are going to be violent to some extent. Surely, what was meant was that it was the first F4 tornado recorded during November in Oklahoma. Was it also that way for the whole USA?

I'm not sure but I think I know the picture that Bunty is talking about. It looks pretty wicked.
