Anyone know of any agencies who would be in need of volunteers to serve others for Thanksgiving?

BBatesokc 11-15-2011, 08:59 AM We used to volunteer to serve food at Thanksgiving, but then stopped. It seemed that's when everyone wants to volunteer art some dinner service. We instead went a little less traditional and put in extra hours at the Food Bank and if the weather isn't bad, Habitat for Humanity. The Food Bank is a great place to volunteer, we try to do it regularly. I like Habitat too but it wipes me out the whole rest of the weekend if you do a full day and its involves roofing, framing or sodding. metro405 11-15-2011, 03:28 PM Thanks BB for the information I will deifintely make use of it kevinpate 11-15-2011, 04:49 PM Does someone do a big Thanksgiving dinner at the Myriad, or is that only at Christmas? rcjunkie 11-16-2011, 05:29 AM Does someone do a big Thanksgiving dinner at the Myriad, or is that only at Christmas? Christmas. There's a group in Norman that are having a Community Thanksgiving Dinner in Norman and are asking for donations and/or volunteers. 360-4954. The participating agencies are Food and Shelter for Friends, City of Norman, Salvation Army, United Way, and the Community Action Committee. metro405 11-17-2011, 08:38 AM Thanks RCJunkie thats very good information and i will share it |
